Drummer/sequencer Dale W. Miller and free bassist
Tony Gordon created per
and its alterego pow
respectively
in hopes of exploiting the duo's ability to destroy and rebuild music
in two separate visions.
per
is the electronic-based project structured around the sampling of
Tony's Freebass
playing and Dale's live kit/v-drums, keyboard, sampler and sequencer
performance. Imagine free noise looped with a melodic sense in mind
and structured with passionate vocals. Look for the upcoming Self
records release featuring vocalist Calluna Vulgaris.
Pow
is complete without structure. Formed from the wreckage of freenoise
ensemble CHARLIE PARKER
and trio TO.DA.MA, pow finds Tony (bass) and Dale (drumkit) along
with special guest choosing to improvise freely. Self described as
"swimming up stream and every so often locking up causing the
listener to fly backwards, downstream." Look for their Self records
release coming late 2000 featuring performances from their May 4th
and October 9th Knitting Factory (NYC) shows.
